ADPC Holds Multi-Stakeholder Consultation to Combat Drug Abuse and Trafficking

The Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate (ADPC) on Tuesday evening organised a multi-stakeholder consultation aimed at addressing the growing menace of narcotic drugs and substance abuse in society.
The programme was attended by the Commissioner of Police, senior police officials, representatives from non-governmental organisations (NGOs), de-addiction and rehabilitation centres, educational institutions, and members of the medical community.
An interactive session formed a key part of the consultation, during which participants shared their perspectives and discussed collaborative strategies to tackle drug abuse and curb narcotics trafficking. Stakeholders emphasised the importance of coordinated action involving law enforcement agencies, healthcare professionals, educators, social organisations, and the wider community.

Speakers at the event highlighted that the battle against drugs cannot be won by the police alone and stressed the need for a collective, community-driven approach. Special focus was placed on preventive awareness, rehabilitation of affected individuals, and strengthening cooperation among all stakeholders.
Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the younger generation, the Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate stated that it will continue to work closely with partner organisations and community members to build a safer, healthier, and drug-free society.
