PublicNewz Asansol, June 17: The Asansol Artist Welfare Society has organised a four-day Bangla Music Fair, which begins today and will continue until June 21 at Rabindra Bhavan, Asansol.
A press conference was held on Wednesday afternoon at a hotel near the old Ramakrishna Mission More on GT Road, where the organisers shared details of the event. Speaking at the conference, the Society’s Chief Patron, Sachin Roy, said that last year’s three-day music fair received an overwhelming response from music lovers. Encouraged by that success, the organisers have extended the event to four days this year.
He said the primary objective of the fair is to promote Bengali music and cultural heritage while inspiring the younger generation to stay connected with their cultural roots. During the four-day festival, renowned and emerging artists will perform a wide range of Bengali musical programmes, offering audiences a rich cultural experience.
Sachin Roy expressed confidence that a large number of people would attend the event and make this year’s music fair a grand success. The organisers have invited all music enthusiasts and the general public to participate, adding that entry to the fair is completely free.
The four-day festival has already generated excitement among music lovers and the cultural community across Asansol and the industrial belt.
The organisers also stated that the Asansol Artist Welfare Society was formed during the COVID-19 pandemic to support artists who were facing financial and professional hardships. Since then, the society has been organising the annual Bangla Music Fair along with various cultural programmes every year.
Several other members of the Society were also present at the press conference.
